The Sugar Girl’s Mocki Rolls

I love sharing new products with my readers.   When a friend told me that she had started a new venture called The Sugar Girl, I was more than happy to take a bite look!

The Sugar Girl has created these amazing Mocki Rolls, aka “Sweet Sushi.”  As you may know, Maki is a type of sushi, raw fish rolled in rice, wrapped in seaweed.  The Sugar Girl’s “Mocki” then is a play on words, of course.  She creates gorgeous mock sushi rolls made entirely from typical ingredients used in high-end baking.

They look great, so you might be wondering how they taste.  Amazing!  The Sugar Girl’s Mocki Rolls are the real deal – wonderful taste, clever packaging and they look incredible.  They are perfect for party or wedding favors.

You can win one of her party platters for your next event (featured in the upper left corner of the photo) valued at $75.00  by “liking” her Facebook page and then leaving a comment here.  A winner will be randomly chosen next Friday, October 14th, at 5:00 by Random.org.

Good luck!

Glow Crazy Distance Doodler & Glow to Go: Night Time Fun & Giveaway

The night time routine of reading and getting ready for bed is always easy for us, until it’s time to actually shut off the lights. And then, there’s a series of endless pleas: Can we keep the lights on? Five more minutes, mom? Can I have a flashlight? It’s exhausting!

We were all really excited when we were sent the Distance Doodler and Glow to Go toys to review. We first tried out the Glow to Go…

It’s the perfect nighttime/bedtime toy. It’s compact and has several pages of different color sheets. The Lightwand allows you to draw and stencil on the different colored sheets, in the dark! The images last about three minutes after creating them. The Lightwand is attached by string and there is a handy pocket to keep the stencils safe in one place.

Next, we tried the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler – so much fun! The Distance Doodler features wall clings that are just for play with the Doodler. Using the Dual-Action Light Doodler (which works up to ten feet away from the Clings) you can create glow-in-the-dark works of art! We created a little video to demonstrate how it works:

Of course, this is a much better example of how the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler works:

The Glow Crazy Distance Doodler retails for $24.99 & Glow Crazy Glow To Go is $19.99 and can be purchased online. (Right now, if you order the Distance Doodler the website you can receive an exclusive free bonus pack including 1 Light Writer, 5 Canvas Wall Clings and 4 Stencils for an extra $5.95 for postage and handling.)

Bonus! We’re giving away a Glow Crazy Distance Doodler! Winner must live within the continental US to win the prize, please. To win, leave a comment here about why you want the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler. Then, to earn an extra entry or two, do the following:

* Like Glow Crazy’s Facebook Page
* Tweet this: I entered @MBMomBlogger’s @GlowCrazy Contest, you can too: http://wp.me/p1rGlf-qf

One winner will be chosen by using Random.org on Saturday, Octobe 15th at 5:00 pm. Good luck!

* I was not compensated for this post. We received the two toys to test drive!

Marley & Me: The Puppy Years Pt. 2 – $100.00 Marley & Me Gift Bag Giveaway

Yesterday, I wrote about my visit to the Ultimate Puppy Championship, an event staged for the premiere of the film Marley & Me:  The Puppy Years.

If you would like to enter to win, please do the following:

* Leave your team name here in the blog comments section and tweet your name out with the links to @MBMomBlogger & #PuppyPremiere.

* Winners will be selected randomly Thursday night 8/17 at 5 pm using Random.org.

I was not compensated for this post.  I received a dvd screener of the film and attended the Ultimate Puppy Championship for free.

Contest! Get Your Juice in the City

As a business owner, I can’t help but love the phrase “Shop Local.”  I love supporting independently owned businesses in our neighborhood.  As you well know, there are a trillion new sites imitating Groupon that foster group buying in return for great deals.  I recently discovered Juice in the City, which encourages hyper-local shopping.

Today’s deal in the South Bay features 22 Degrees Prebiotic Gelato, located in Redondo Beach, which gives you $8.00 to spend when you invest only $4.00.  Last week, Juice in the City featured a massage at Terranea Resort.  (Heaven!)

There are several unique things about Juice in the City that you need to know about:

* Each deal is found by a local mom, who personally recommends the business and/or product.  Today’s deal, for example, was found by Shannon Brentin.   On Juice’s website, Shannon says I am SO impressed with the owner, Kaity, and all the research, time and energy she put into creating this unique, delicious treat. She refuses to sacrifice an ounce of quality when it comes to her clever creation, which I love. Many gelato shops use pre-manufactured mixes that include artificial colors, sweeteners and preservatives. But from the beginning, Kaity was determined to create a fantastic, quality gelato; and she wanted to provide health benefits as well. Mission accomplished! This stuff is AMAZING, and I love that I can take my kids out for a healthy dessert!”

* You can make money, too!  Juice in the City brings on local moms as local business consultants to help find and secure the deals.  As a local business consultant, you get paid a healthy percentage of the revenue made from the deal.  (Yahoooo!)

Sarah Eisner, one of the founders of Juice in the City, has given ManhattanBeachMomma some money to give away!  I have $25.00 in Juice in the City bucks to share with one lucky reader!

To enter: Go to Juice in the City and sign up for the city closest to you.  (You will get a $5.00 credit just for signing up!)  Then, come back to ManhattanBeachMomma and post “I signed up” within the blog comments section.  One reader will be chosen (via Random.Org) on Friday, January 21st at noon.  I will post the winner here and contact you by email.

Good luck!
